Latest News!

I did it! Earlier this month I sent out my very first eNewsletter which I have decided to call ‘From the Bench’. If you would like to receive it, please do sign up as I would love for you to be the first to hear about what I have planned, projects that I am working on, latest EVENT news as well as special offers, tips, trends, reviews and links to exhibitions that may be of interest to you. I promise that I won’t be dropping them in to your Inbox too often but I really hope that you will want to join me by keeping in touch.

No doubt you may have seen or at least heard of the new jewellery challenge show ‘All that Glitters’ on the BBC? I’ve certainly received a flurry of enquiries about my Beginner’s Workshop experiences since it first aired so if you too feel inspired to have a go at creating a piece of silver jewellery either for yourself or to give to a friend or loved one. If you prefer, I can send out Gift Vouchers for experiences which make perfect presents. In just a morning or afternoon, I can guide and support you to cut, texture, form and solder silver sheet and wire, enabling you to make a piece of jewellery that will be a totally unique ‘one off’. My workshop is large enough for two so why not come along with a friend for extra fun? Depending on the project chosen prices start from £55 per person for a 2.5 hour- 3 hour workshop which includes materials. If you would like to know more or make a booking, please contact me here.

I’m still keeping up with the Jewellery School of Scotland’s #RingAMonth challenge and am particularly pleased with March’s ring for the ‘Flowers and Plants’ theme especially as it is made entirely from up-cycled silver and brass from my remodel and scrap pots. I would LOVE to make this in 18 carat gold if anyone wants to commission me?
April’s theme was ‘Twist’ and I have given it an additional twist by making it out of a gold filling that I was given by my dad (he replaced it with a crown!) It’s 22 carat and I have had it for a year or so wondering what to use it for. After melting it down, shaping it into a length of thick wire and painstakingly rolling it down into a useable strip, I then made it into one of my signature ‘Mobius Twist’ rings. With a subtle sheen on one side and high polish contrast on the other, this will be one for my jewellery box but I do sell them in silver at events and would happily make gold ones to order.

The last few month’s have been really busy with lots of lovely commission projects that have come in so I’m off ‘to the bench’ to get making…

Until next time,
