Carrick Knot Ring

A Carrick knot  (or bend) is used to join two lines together and this ring was aptly made and given several years ago as a promise ring due to the connections associated with it.

Research suggests that the name of this knot or bend may come from Carrick Roads—a large natural anchorage by Falmouth in Cornwall which is where Chris originates from. The eight crossings within the Carrick Bend alternate between over and under at every crossing making it one of the strongest knots.

Chris and Debbie are now happily married and enjoying their retirement sailing their boat in the Mediterranean.
